The Royal Mayan is a 5-star resort. It is truly luxurious, with great beaches, pools, restaurants, entertainment, tennis courts, the Health Spa at the Sands, and lots of really friendly people, both owners and staff.
We have gone there for many years and, like most owners at the Royals, just LOVE the place.
The pictures on the right were taken in unit 806 (just down the hall from 802, same size but a mirrored layout) a few years ago. There have been some slight modifications in the decor (and the owner too.)
BEDROOMS: There are two full sleeping suites, with privacy doors that shut them off from the rest of the unit. The first one has a King bed, the second two double beds. Both bedroom suites have their own private split bath with toilet/tub/shower in one room and mirror/sinks in separate space. Each bedroom also has a color TV with multiple cable channels including HBO, Cinemax, CNN, all major networks. Rooms each have large closet and a private safe
LIVING ROOM: Has a murphy bed that sleeps two. Room also has a CD player and large color TV.
KITCHEN: Full kitchen with all the usual needed amenities: Stove, Oven, Microwave, Toaster, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, cooking utensils, plates, cups, yadda yadda, yadda.
There are three balconies: a) One main with views of the pool and ocean, wicker furniture, accessed by double sliding doors and also semi-private in the sense that no one next to you on either side, above or below can see you (people across the way can, obviously) and b) a small walk-out balcony accessed by sliding glass doors are available in each of the bedrooms.
There is maid service every day except Sunday.
